Born and raised on a farm in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, the bush and nature has been Jane’s friend for as long as she can remember. It is her place of peace, freedom, solace, solitude and most importantly, her inspiration. Moving from the chilly south, Jane spent a number of years living and working in the outback, where her travels and adventures spanned from the wide expanses of Broken Hill to the vast and extraordinary Kimberly region of WA.
As her adventures continued, Jane found herself leaving the bush, first heading for Sydney and then to a new world in Brisbane, where she now lives with her two young children, one husband and one mischievous pup.
Jane’s vibrant and varied art works reflect the diversity and divergences of her life and life experiences. The depth and boldness in her paintings highlight Jane’s strong and enduring relationship with our incredible Australian landscape – All the way from The Bush to the bubbly streets of Brisbane.
Spontaneous and intuitive, with a penchant for finding the perfection in the seemingly imperfect, Jane’s art explores the philosophy that beautiful things can so often be discovered in the most unexpected of places. In each of her paintings, which are often imaginative, Jane seeks to reveal the “extraordinary within the ordinary” and enable people to find the hidden gems that lie within. Through her unique style and contrasting hues of light and dark, Jane seeks to consider and convey the balancing act of life - the emotions, the actions and the reactions that we each experience in both the everyday and in the journey of life as a whole. Jane aims to transpire a positive energy into her creations and imbue people with optimism and a sense of joy. To lead her audience to their own unique place of reflection and inspiration – a place that is collectively exciting, open and thought provoking.
